This 8-day journey is a true Saharan adventure – moving to the rhythm of the caravan, surrounded by silence, sand, and an endless horizon. From Desert Camp Chraika, you’ll set off with guides and camels toward the majestic Erg Chigaga dunes. Along the way, you’ll camp in the wild, enjoy traditional meals cooked over an open fire, taste bread baked in the sand, and sleep beneath a sky full of stars. It’s travel in its purest form – unhurried, close to nature, and in tune with the spirit of the desert.

Meals during the tour include carefully selected dishes prepared from fresh, local ingredients. Each day, participants can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner that combine traditional regional flavors with light, balanced cuisine. This way, your journey becomes not only an adventure but also a culinary experience.
Discover the places where you’ll unwind after a day full of adventure — from wild desert camps to luxurious stays under the stars.

The day begins after breakfast, while the sun is still gentle. We walk for about 2–3 hours in the morning, followed by a long lunch break and rest in the shade. In the afternoon, we continue for another 2–3 hours until we reach the camping spot, where we set up camp and prepare dinner by the fire.
Yes, for a 6-day desert trek it’s best to have decent fitness and be comfortable with basic camping conditions. Each day involves about 5–6 hours of walking with breaks. The route crosses different terrains – sand, stones, and dunes – and nights are spent in wild camps without modern facilities. It’s a demanding but deeply rewarding adventure for those who enjoy movement, nature, and the simplicity of desert life.
No worries — camels accompany the caravan to carry luggage, and you can ride one if needed. The guides adjust the pace to the group, make frequent stops in the shade, and ensure everyone’s safety. Since this is a private trek, the plan can be flexible – if you prefer to rest longer or shorten the route, simply tell your guide.
We sleep in simple wild camps set up by the guides among the dunes. Overnight stays are in tents or directly under the stars, on comfortable mattresses with warm blankets. There is no electricity or Wi-Fi, and the “bathroom” is simply behind a dune.
Toilets in wild camps are simple and natural. You choose a private spot behind a dune, away from camp, and cover it with sand afterward. There’s usually no one around for miles, so you can feel completely comfortable – it’s a safe, natural solution used by nomads and desert travelers for generations.
