Eight days of trekking through some of the most beautiful landscapes of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains. Traditional Amazigh villages, lush valleys, mountain passes, remote shepherd settlements and trails far beyond the usual tourist routes.
This journey is for those who want to discover a quieter side of the mountains. No four-thousand-metre summits to conquer, no rush to reach the next destination. Instead, we take our time to enjoy the landscapes, meet local people and experience everyday life in the mountain villages.
We stay in simple, traditional mountain guesthouses, enjoy freshly prepared meals and explore the Atlas in the company of experienced local guides who know these mountains like the back of their hands.
Our route takes us through three beautiful valleys of the High Atlas: Azzaden, Aït Mizane and Imnane, as well as the spectacular high-altitude landscapes of Oukaïmeden.
Along the way, we cross mountain passes, discover hidden waterfalls, walk through terraced fields and walnut groves, and visit traditional Amazigh villages where daily life still follows the rhythm of the mountains.
Each day brings a different landscape, from green valleys and cultivated terraces to rugged mountain slopes, remote shepherd settlements and wide-open alpine pastures.
Our local trekking team takes care of the logistics, accommodation and meals, allowing us to focus on the journey itself.
We are not racing to the summit. This is a slow journey through the mountains, a chance to discover their landscapes, meet their people and hear their stories.
This is a moderate mountain trek, with some challenging ascents, descents and mountain passes along the way.
No technical climbing skills are required, but a reasonable level of fitness and some previous hiking experience are recommended. Participants should feel comfortable walking for several hours a day on uneven mountain terrain, over consecutive days.
Unlike our more demanding High Atlas expeditions, this journey does not involve climbing Mount Toubkal or other four-thousand-metre peaks. However, we will still be trekking in genuine mountain terrain, where altitude, weather conditions and elevation changes can make some days more challenging.
The emphasis is on the experience rather than speed or performance. We walk together, take breaks when needed and leave time to appreciate the surroundings.
Throughout the journey, we stay mainly in traditional mountain gîtes – simple, family-run guesthouses in Amazigh villages.
These offer basic rooms, usually with shared bathrooms, and communal spaces where our group can enjoy meals and spend evenings together.
Gîtes are an important part of mountain trekking culture in Morocco. They provide accommodation for travellers and kitchen facilities for the trekking team’s cook, who prepares our meals.
Accommodation is simple rather than luxurious, but that’s part of the experience: warm hospitality, mountain views and evenings far from the noise of the city.
Our local cook prepares fresh, nourishing meals to keep us energised throughout the journey.
Breakfasts typically include Moroccan bread, olive oil, jam, eggs, tea and coffee. Lunches are enjoyed along the trail, often in beautiful mountain locations, while dinners are served at our accommodation.
Expect traditional Moroccan dishes such as vegetable tagines, couscous, soups, fresh salads and seasonal fruit.
Vegetarian meals can be arranged, and other dietary requirements should be communicated before the trip.
Our journey is supported by experienced local mountain guides and a dedicated trekking crew with deep knowledge of the High Atlas Mountains.

Meals during the tour include carefully selected dishes prepared from fresh, local ingredients. Each day, participants can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner that combine traditional regional flavors with light, balanced cuisine. This way, your journey becomes not only an adventure but also a culinary experience.

No. Our trekking team arranges the transport of your main luggage between overnight stops. You only need to carry a small daypack with water, snacks, a waterproof jacket, sun protection and other personal essentials.
Comfortable, well-worn hiking boots are essential, along with breathable trekking clothes, warm layers, a waterproof jacket, sun protection and a small daypack. Even during warmer months, temperatures can drop considerably at higher elevations. We will provide a detailed packing list before departure.
June is one of the best months for trekking in the High Atlas. Days are generally sunny, dry and pleasantly warm, with temperatures often reaching 20–28°C in the valleys. At higher altitudes, including Oukaïmeden, conditions are cooler, especially in the early morning and evening.
Once the sun goes down, temperatures can drop to around 5–10°C, or even lower at higher elevations. Rain is less common than in spring, although occasional afternoon thunderstorms are still possible.
We recommend bringing lightweight trekking clothes for warm days, along with a fleece, a warm jacket and a waterproof layer for cooler evenings and changing mountain conditions. Sun protection is essential, as the sun can be particularly strong at altitude.
Absolutely! Our small-group treks are a wonderful way to explore the mountains, whether you’re travelling alone, with a partner or with friends. Walking together, sharing meals and spending evenings in mountain guesthouses naturally brings people together.
Our trek is led by experienced local mountain guides who grew up in the High Atlas and know its trails, villages and landscapes exceptionally well. Our guide Yassine comes from Aremd and has been exploring these mountains since childhood. Together with our trekking crew, he takes care of the group throughout the journey.
Basic travel insurance is included in our organised tour package. If you prefer more comprehensive coverage, you can arrange your own additional insurance or contact us to upgrade your policy for an extra fee.
Safety always comes first. Mountain conditions can change unexpectedly, and our local guides may adjust the route, walking times or daily itinerary if necessary. Any changes will be made with the group’s safety and comfort in mind.
